Data Science Engineer - Python & R skills

About the Role:

IMM is the fastest growing digital media company with a large presence through its online platforms. Each of our platforms capture large amounts of data which needs to be cleaned, analysed and visualized for various decision making teams. As a Data Scientist at IMM, you will be responsible to analyze large amounts of raw data to identify trends, patterns and insights that will help us make better decisions to deliver even greater products. Your primary focus will be to apply various data science technologies (data gathering, web scraping, statistical analysis, machine learning, and pattern recognition and data visualization) along with domain knowledge and subject-specific models to solve scientific, engineering, commercial and customer pain points.

  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Scrape data using Beautiful Soup or other libraries, and also understand other types of web crawling
  • Use company databases and native social and web platforms to mine and analyze data
  • Develop Hypotheses to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies
  • Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques.
  • Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes
  • Set product performance benchmarks based on data analysis
  • Develop API integrations that require Python coding skills

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • 3 years of experience in Data Science
  • Hands on Knowledge of R/Python and other statistical tools

Knowledge, Skills & Aptitude:

  • Proficient in writing and executing complex queries in SQL
  • Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong presentation skills to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand
  • Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
